Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor best recognized for her role as Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue, for which she earned an Emmy Award. Also, she is known for her role on the drama show All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was the sole child from her mom who was a homemaker as well as a an executive in her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney was a child with her four brothers. When she was a little girl, Delaney hoped to work as a reporter in the courtroom. In highschool her modeling career began when she was able to model commercials, she moved to New York. Her first job as an actor came when she was a young, innocent girl in the 1981 soap opera All My Children. Delaney is well-known as an actress who has been in many films, TV movies, and dramas. Her career as a professional has been better than her personal life. She has been in the past talented actress struggled to overcome alcoholism and had two marriages that failed. She was divorced in 2005 and was denied custody of the only child she had.
